Fish Creek Listed as Nutrient Polluted by Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality

A 9.6-mile stretch of Fish Creek has been listed by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WYDEQ) as polluted by excessive nutrients.

The impairment listing makes official that excessive nitrogen and phosphorus in the creek are harming its aquatic life. WYDEQ will be collaborating with Teton Conservation District to develop a restoration plan to address sources of excess nutrients, as well as E. coli found in the waterway. In 2020, WYDEQ listed the entire 15-mile long tributary to the Snake River as contaminated by E. coli.
