As part of a civic voter guide jointly produced by the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance (JHCA) and Protect Our Water Jackson Hole (POWJH), we sent candidates for local office a questionnaire ahead of the August, 2026 primary election. Recipients included candidates for Jackson town council and the Teton County board of county commissioners.
All but one of the 13 candidates, Melchor Moore, responded to the questionnaire.
Questions ranged from the question of how to balance the health of our tourist economy with conserving our wildlife and open spaces to where water quality issues rank in each candidates list of priorities. Responses are shared below, without editing, so that community members can learn about candidate platforms and perspectives in order to make informed voting decisions in the Primary and General Elections. POWJH and the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance do not make endorsements of candidates in accordance with our tax exempt 501(c)(3) status.
For those candidates who make it through the primary, POWJH and the JHCA will be convening a live candidate forum preceded by a candidate meet-and-greet on October 21.
