Tap Into Science: A free event series in partnership with Snake River Brewing

Expanding Knowledge, Inspiring Action

POWJH continues to host our Tap Into Science free education event series in partnership with Snake River Brewing featuring presentations by local scientists and water resources professionals. Since its launch, the program has provided over a dozen seasonally appropriate presentations. From measuring the snowpack to water use on agricultural lands, the threat of toxic algal blooms in our watershed, and the importance of clean water in brewing a great tap beer, we will continue to provide a variety of engaging topics for attendees to enjoy in a relaxed environment. Join us for thought-provoking discussions on critical water issues with leading experts. And, if you choose, with an award-winning beer in hand!

Upcoming Events

Join us for FREE presentations by local scientists where you can relax and enjoy a pint of award-winning beer while you learn about engaging watershed science topics around Jackson Hole. The goal is to promote enthusiasm for science in a fun and casual atmosphere. You don’t have to be a science geek — all you need is a thirst for knowledge!

Monday, March 9, 6:30 p.m. at the Snake River Brewery:

“Overview of USGS Data Collection and Current Role in the Snake River Basin”

Ruth Law and Jerrod Wheeler will introduce the critical hydrologic data collection and science happening across the Snake River Basin—from groundwater monitoring to surface water studies. Their work provides the reliable data that guides water management decisions, informs policy, and helps protect the long-term health of our region’s water resources.

Why attend?

Because water science isn’t abstract—it directly affects our community, our economy, and the future of the Snake River Basin.

This is your chance to hear firsthand how science-based measurement drives smart decisions and sustainable stewardship.

The first twenty guests get a free beer token! See you there.
